Sizing and approval

The approved size data is what the factory builds

Sizes come from the factory's own blocks, built on common European and American fits and graded from 2XS to 7XL across adult and youth ranges. Custom size charts are accepted. The size data confirmed in writing for your order is the only production basis.

First response within 30 minutes during working hours, within 12 hours outside them.

Sizing reference

Our own blocks, graded from 2XS to 7XL

Adult and youth ranges are graded from the factory's own blocks. We do not copy Nike or Adidas size standards, and we make no claim that our blocks match another brand's sizing. What we supply and what we need from you are set out side by side.

Point What we supply What we need from you
Size range 2XS to 7XL, across adult and youth ranges. The size split you expect to order, with adult and youth quantities named separately.
Fit basis Own blocks built on common European and American athletic fits. Any fit notes for the programme, or a chart of your own to cut to.
Custom charts Custom size charts accepted for the order. Your chart as a usable file, using the same measurement points as the garment.
Size data The measurement points for the order, set out in writing. Written confirmation of that data before bulk production starts.
Production basis The confirmed, written size data, and nothing else. Sign-off on the final size data, with any change raised before it is locked.

Nothing is cut from a verbal figure or a chat message. If your organisation already works to its own chart, we cut to that chart, and it becomes part of the confirmed size data.

Measuring

How to measure a garment that already fits

Lay the garment flat and measure it relaxed, without pulling the fabric. These five points are the ones buyers use most often when they compare a chart with a shirt or short they already own.

Chest and body length measurement points on a flat jersey Recommended Size: 600 × 360 px
Sleeve, waist and inseam measurement points Recommended Size: 600 × 360 px
  • Chest

Measure straight across the front from armhole seam to armhole seam, then double the figure for the full circumference.

  • Body length

Measure from the highest point of the shoulder, where the collar meets the shoulder seam, straight down to the hem.

  • Sleeve

With the sleeve laid flat, measure from the shoulder point along the top of the sleeve to the cuff.

  • Waist

For shorts and trousers, measure across the waistband and double the figure, as you would for the chest.

  • Inseam

Measure from the crotch seam down the inside leg to the hem, keeping the leg straight.

Measure a garment rather than a body, and send the figures with the size you want them compared against. Where a garment sits at the boundary between two sizes, say so in the brief and we will confirm the size data in writing before bulk.

Rosters and artwork

What a roster file and the artwork need to carry

A confirmed roster drives name and number printing, packing and the size breakdown. The clearer the file, the less there is to correct later.

Custom size charts are accepted. If your organisation already works to a chart of its own, send it in the same measurement points as the garment, and it joins the confirmed size data for the order.

Vector files are preferred for crests, sponsor marks and league badges. Clients submitting those marks confirm in writing that they hold the rights to reproduce them; the team checks submitted marks before releasing cutting files.

Roster file and artwork files checked before bulk Recommended Size: 700 × 520 px
  • Player name

Spelt exactly as it should be printed, including accents and the letter case you want.

  • Squad number

The number for each player, with any duplicates or unallocated numbers noted.

  • Size

The garment size for each player, against the confirmed size data.

  • Squad or age group

Which squad or age group each player belongs to, so a large roster is split correctly.

  • Crest and brand artwork

Crest, sponsor marks and league badges as files we can work from, vector preferred.

  • Colours and references

Club colours and reference images where a mark has to be redrawn or a colour matched.

Before bulk

The production pack, and changes after lock

Five items are confirmed in writing before bulk production starts. Once the pack is locked, it is the instruction the factory builds to.

  • Artwork and colours

The approved design and the approved swatches, including crest, brand-colour and sponsor placement.

  • Fabric, craft and trims

The fabric and the craft confirmed for the order, from print and badges to finishing.

  • Size data

The confirmed size data for the order, whether from our blocks or from your own chart.

  • Roster

Player names, numbers and the size breakdown as you confirmed them.

  • Packing and delivery

Packing method, carton details and the delivery arrangement agreed in writing.

A change requested after the pack is locked pauses production. The order is then re-costed for the change and the schedule is re-confirmed, so the new date is agreed rather than assumed.

Next step

Send the roster with the brief

Send the size split, the roster and the artwork files, and note anything that has to be checked before the pack is locked. We will confirm the size data for the order in writing.
